Star Wars: Edge of The Empire

Improving Station - A new begining
Session 1

The planet, Kothar

Gorchabek Salvov, the Chevin entrepreneur asks the party to fly to the Fidonian Gate, a shadow port on the Perlmian Trade Route and meet a Toydarian named, Tozko. Entering hyperspace the party flies off into the void. After a failed bargaining session, Gorchabek agrees to pay the party 2,000 credits per person and a spare clip for the droid.

sci-fi-space-stations-norad_09.jpg
A week or so later,
On a routine drop from hyperspace to refuel and restock the party checked the HoloNet and discovered to their surprise that not a few days ago a terrible plague broke out, killing thousands and forcing the planetary government to quarantine the whole planet. In addition they learn that the planetary government is looking for anyone who recently left the planet and might be carriers for the plague.
As the party flies towards the underworld station, the party assembles to plan it’s strategy. Norghar asks Dr. Rhongo to check the party for any signs of infection and after some checks finds that the are all ok.

Landing at the one of the 5 landing bays – Landing zone D – a minor sized docking bay. The bay is lightly trafficked with not many ships in the zone. Looking around the party sees plenty of mechanical loading zones that act as transportation for goods between the various zones.
Entering the station, they meet a Toydarian who greets them as they enter. Leading them through the different districts to the “Double Tuber”, the party passes through a trade zone with plenty of shops that run the gamut from cybernetic chop shops to restaurants. In front of a small plaza, a small cantina sits. Not sleazy but not particularly fancy. Introducing himself as Tozka a longstanding associate of Gorchabek. Turning to the party he says “I have recently acquired highly valued artwork, at great expense to myself. Sadly enough though, these pieces were never delivered to us. I require a specialized team to go and get my artwork for me”. Matthew answered him “Usually we do not accept these types of contracts. We are transporters. Not thieves. However since you are a friend of Gorchabek, we will do this job for you

As the party haggle over the paycheck, Matthew finds himself a little suspicious of Tozka, and his unlikely story. But as he looks at Tozka intently for any signs of duplicity, he finds to himself to to his surprise that Tozka is being straight with them and is not lying. Turning back to Matthew, Tozka states “I bought some Twilek technical art, from a supplier with connections to a Hutt. But every time I tried to find out what is going on with my order, I found that the warehouse was closed or they never returned my calls. I know where the warehouse is and I can show you its location

Choosing to go scout the warehouse, Matthew leaves alone and travels to the location. Skulking around the place he finds two Gammorean guards patrolling what seems to be a medium sized warehouse, that is unassuming and a smugglers dream. As the times pass, Matthew notices a man pass by every so often who waves towards the guards. After this man approaches for the third time, Matthew approaches the man and engages him in conversation in an attempt to find out some information. He finds out that the warehouse owners name is Gloom Pass, and trying to charm this watchman into giving him some more information he manages to sneak a look into the inside of the warehouse. On the crates, a very familiar symbol is painted inside – Black Sun. As soon as he sees the symbol, Matthew leaves the area and returns to the party.

As Norghar and Matthew try to find out more information about Gloom Pass they find that no one is willing to talk to them and they find nothing. Formulating a plan to sneak into the warehouse, they decide to try and hack into the warehouse database in order to find out the places shipping manifesting, and successfully manages to hack in leaving no trace. Finding out the warehouse manifest, the floor plan, even managing to write in a temporary backdoor into the alarm system, and last but not least – Norghar inserted a fake shipping order into the system for entry and exit.
Two days later, as they arrived at the warehouse, the Gammorean guards stop them and inquire to their presence, and then summoned their supervisor. Checking out the manifest the supervisor accepts it and then proceeds to enter the warehouse and organizes a position to place their doctored crate. As they position the crate Norghar uses the Force to guide his senses and find the location of the technical artwork. In a flash of insight, one of the crates jumps to his eyes. Leaving a commlink message to Dr. Rhongo with the location of the crate.

As the time passes by, Norghar comms Rhongo and lets him know that he has 5 minutes and to start searching. Successfully stealing the artwork and swiping the small Black Sun crate Rhongo gets back into the crate and closes it. As the hours drag by, Norghar returns with the repulser-sled. Just before the supervisor opens the door, he asks Norghar where they are planning to take the shipment.

New Opportunities

The group discusses what to do about their current situation – what to do about the broken spaceship, whether to dig for clues on the Muir Glaam etc…
After long and heated discussions the group decides to trade the cloaking device to the Rebel Alliance in return for the privilage of using the reversed engineered
cloaking device, while Gliir Noom finishes up his archeological digging and research.
Contacting Ricardo Gliir Noom and Tsuk decide to sell him the three Holocron’s that they had found. Using the dark side of the Force Tsuk attempts to influence Ricardo.
Delving into the raging fires of the Dark Side Tsuk channels this dark power and sends inky tendrils of black thought into the mind of Ricardo, wrenching his
consciousness into the mindset that he wishes – a raving obsession for the trio of Holocrons. Not impressed too much with Gliir Noom, and feeling that his recent adventures
weighed on him Ricardo was reluctant to follow through with the deal after a hard round of bargaining, Gliir Noom manages to talk Ricardo into buying the Holocrons for 10,500 credits.

Flying over to Hutt Space in order to find information or clues about the Muir Glaam, the party arrives at Nar Shadda – finding themselves chilling out at a typical
Nar Shadda dive called the Yellow Bantha. Sitting down, they are approached by their contact – who judging by his clothing seems to be a Bounty Hunter – and he then
offers them a job. It seems that a Hutt by the name of Lua the Hutt, Onak’s erstwhile employer has a large debt owed to her by the Hunter and he seeks a way to escape
from her clutches. Looking to subtly blackmail his boss, he leaks rumurs of a threat to her artifact collection and now he wishes to make these rumurs come true.

Nar_Shadaa.jpg

Listening to Onak the wookiee and the Grey Jedi Tsuk object as they wish to harm the Empire and this mission doesnt seem to do so. They do not see themselves as criminals
and will not engage in any criminal undertakings. Attempting to placate their concerns gliir Noom comes up with the idea of framing the Empire for this job and thus
deteriorate the realtions between the Galactic Empire and the Hutt Consortium. Agreeing on the mission, Onak tells them that he knows the location of the apartment of
Lua’s Majordomo – Lakbosh – and they decide to burglarize his rooms in an attempt to steal his access key to Lua’s villa. Hiring three speeders, the party then fly off
towards Lakbosh’s apartment while the Majordomo is attending Lua at the Yellow Bantha. Arriving at a more secluded, but still seedy apartment building the group land at
the only docking tube available and then disembark onto the landing pad. Seeing as Lakbosh lives on the 14th floor the party takes the elevator to the top – arriving at
the top the group sees that they have arrived at the 13th floor!!! Onak violently shakes the command console in an attempt to open the console and then when he sees
that it wont open, he smashes it repeatedly with his slugrifle denting both the console and his own weapon in the attempt.

Finally after repeated bashes the console opens successfuly and Tsuk shoves him to the side as he contemplates the panel in front of him – cutting the purple wire and
connecting the yellow and brown one the turbolift rises upwards. Entering the foyer the group see’s that this hall is far more opulently attired then the outside would
tell. Onak sneaks forward silently and cautiously looking around he notices a security video camera stationed at the far end of the hall facing the direction of the
group.
Taking off the Greatcoat and putting on the Stormtrooper helmet and boldly striding forward Cryus enters the hall and then beckons behind him as if to call the rest of
his forces. Striding forward he then “notices” the camera and shoots it down. Maki takes a run at the door and then smashes into it, taking the hinges off the doorway.
Entering into what seems to be a bar area/lounge with two adjoining room’s, scanning through the cieling Maki notices another camera and promptly destroyes it with a
few well placed shots. As Onak searched through the apartment, he found a necklace made of a cold feeling metal, with three different precious ores embedded into it.
Gliir Noom, grabs the fallen camera and attempting to salvage the computer chip he pokes and prods it unsuccesfully, while Tsuk searched the bedroom for anything.
Entering the bedroom with full stormtrooper gear, Gliir Noom screams out in a broken accent “Hey boss! Shall we trash the place?”, looking back and acessing the
audio controls Cryus orders them to trash the apartment before shooting out the camera. Commencing to trash the place, Gliir Noom tries once more to secure another chip
but just as he unplugs the camera the chip dissolves into dust.

The Tomb of Harrows

The two open corridors are tiled with heavy stone blocks while the walls are covered in bulky and dark durasteel, every so often the bright glow of a glow light
indicates the presence of some sort of power source. On one side of the passage is a monumental stone scultpture of a dark and majestic queen, who seems to hold a
scepter in her right hand. The top of the scepter is broken off haphazardly and it seems to be as if it was smashed as time passed. On the other side of the chamber
a identical sculpture of a regal king. As Gliir Noom and Gaira study the statues in interested Gliir Noom exclaims in wonderment – this is the tomb of Freedon Nadd
himself!!! This great Lord of the Sith conquered the planet Onderon over 4,000 years ago and forged a star spanning Empire until it was brought down. The two statues
are of his descendants – the first King and Queen of Onderon. As Gliir Noom continued his search he remembered that Kings hid clues in their statues, and as he searched
the statue he remerbered a rumor that was brought forth in a few respected academies that the Muir Glamm was passed down through this family line, and because of its
light side affinity it was hidden away.

As the two conversed and exchainged knowledge Cryus looked around in interest and to his surprise he found Wienham standing amongst them! He explained that after they
argued he continued on after the party and followed them down the tunnel’s. As Bacon continued forward he walked until he was close to the force field and tossed a
rock at it. To no one’s surprise it bounced back at him and hit him in the nose.Looking forward he glimpses a figure in the distance.
Searching the statue, Gliir Noom found nothing but he noticed that down one of the
corridors there seemed to be a small room. The whole party decides to walk towards the small room, and walking forward carefully they enter the room.
In the center of the room is a large sarcophagus covered in the strange sigils from the first floor, and on either side of the sarchophagus lie two smaller statues of
the Kingly figure. Closing his eyes and focusing, Gliir Noom focuses his mind and accessing the Force casts his senses around the room. He senses nothing, and brushing
impatiently past him the wookiee braces his huge form and pushes the large slab of stone aside. A scratching and rolling sound clatters nearby and a small cilender
drops down at Gliir Noom’s feet.

Looking down the head of one of the statues lies at his feet, and screaming in outrage at the wookiee he raises it and shakes it at the wookiee. Roaring in response
the wookiee growls in annoyance and then turns to peer into the sarcophagus. It is empty!!! Clambering inside Gliir Noom looks around inside the statue and then
searches inside, finding nothing he sheepishly climbs out. As the Wookiee and Gliir Noom attempt to move the statue they heave mightly but the statue is stuck to the
ground. Leaving the room and walking down the other corridor the group find a heavy piece of machinery that beeps and screeches as it humms silently to itself.
Bacon looks intruiged and pokes and prods the generator and it powers the outlying area. Another sarcophagus lies in the center of the room and this time the statues
are of the queen, with the scepter this time not broken. Wienham and Gliir Noom try to move the top off unsuccessfully.
Once again attempting to focus his mind Gliir Noom tries to sense his sorroundings, detecting only the party members. Bacon access’s the generator and powering up the
generators mainframe he attempts to isolate the force field power settings and shut it down. Smiling to himself he manages to shut down the force field, and as he
looks at the machine he notices that while the hardware of the generator is top of the line machinery from the finest factories in the core worlds the programming of
the mainframe is ancient and sub par compared to modern computer languages. Accessing a stored schematic in the mainframe, he notices that aside from the two rooms
there is only another room that was once protected by the field.

Trooping forward with Maki in the lead, the party heads out to the main room. Looking forward the party enters the corridor to the door, and they see a dark robed
figure sitting on the floor in a meditative pose, with a large circle of unidentified items strewn around him. Reacting fast Maki unslings his large repeater and
letting loose with a wild barrage he fires at the figures back unsuccessfully. The unidentified figure languildly rises to his feet and a red snap hiss sounds as the
corridor is bathed with a dark and mencaing crimson light. Glancing at the party with derision he steps away from the opening and disappears from view as the red glow
vanishes with him. Maki kneels and braces his rifle on the ground in preperation for the oncoming fight, as Cryus takes a few steps forward unslinging his Blaster Rifle
and taking aim as well. Gaira, Wienham and Bacon step forward and cautiously approach the entrance to the room. Looking around the three see a large room. slanted to
left and on the far side is a large dais with multiple steps leading up to the top. On it is a large altar with sigils that remind them of snakes.
Moving forward Maki, Cryus and Gliir Noom walk to the center of the room and peering around the corner they see Tenvic Var holding the lit lightsaber in one hand and
and grabbing a Holocron he places it on the altar. On the floor are three more Holocrons lying in reach of the fallen Inquisitor.

Speaking to Gaira he curses aloud and then angirly exclaims “Why do the Sith not accept me!!! I have done all they asked!!! You have nothing to do here, leave now
while you can or I will slaughter you all where you stand!”. Maki nunplussedly ignores his outburst and lets loose at Tenvic with a burst of laserfire. Hitting
everything around Tenvic but missing the Inquisitor he manages to scorch the altar with his wild barrage. Kneeling down and sighting down the scope Cryus fires at the
standing figure and with nearly supernatural speed whips his lightsaber into a defensive pose, defending most of his shots harmlessly into the sorrounding area –
although one shot manages to get through! Lancing into Tenvic’s shoulder it jerks him back and out of focus although he quickly shrugs it off.
Striding forward Gaira holds out her hand in a reaching movment and accessing the Force sends out a dark tendril of power at the Inquisitor, focusing all her hate she
yanks the lightsaber out of his hands but lost in the seething power of the Dark Side she loses control of the power and it flies into the altar. Unfortunately the loss
pf control dredges up all the dark and cold memories of her time training with Vader and a red mask seems to film over her as Tenvic’s form seems to blur into the
hateful form of Vader. With a scream ofrage and hate she gathers herself for a leap at her long ago tormentor.

Taking out his small pistol, Wienham fires at Tenvic and misses while Bacon runs forward and grabs one of the fallen Holocrons. Looking around Gliir Noom walks
confidently forward and yells out to Tenvic “No no no!!! Your doing the whole ritual wrong!!! You must start with the light side first!!!”, Tenvic looks up at Gliir
Noom and points commandingly to him “Bring me the Holocron” he booms out as he raises his left palm and the hilt of the lightsaber flies into his hand while a Heavy
Blaster Pistol is hekd into his other. Jumping off the altar he lets loose a stream of laserfire at the Wookiee scorching his hide and making the Wookiee roar in pain.
He yells out to Gliir Noom “Bring me the Holocron or I will kill your wookiee friend!” pointing to Gaira he speaks out to her “You! Stay out of this, this is none of
your business”.

Maki ignoring the whole proceedings, aims at Tenvic and lets another barrage of laserfire loose. Igniting his lightsaber Tenvic deflects most of the shots but unable
to cope with the sheer scope of the barrage a few manage to score past the shield of crimson light. Closing the distance fast Gaira once again surrenders herself to
the Force and projects her hand out once more, attempting to yank the lightsaber out of his hand. Tenvic glares at Gaira and although he manages to keep hold of the
lightsaber he seems a little off balance. Sensing an oppurtunity [[:cryus-solusar | Cryus]] once again sights down the barrel of his blaster rifle and sends a few shots down the room at
Tenvic. Already off balance from Gaira’s attempt the laserfire breaks his combat stance and forces him to focus on keeping his balance, and although the laser manages
to hit him it barely glances off him doing minor burns.
Gliir Noom once agains attempts to talk to Tenvic, this time unsuccessfully and glaring at Gliir Noom

Stepping out from the jungle

Stepping out of the jungle, the party looks down a hollow gorge at the end of the jungle.TiePhantom.jpg
In a clearing on the bottom rests what looks like a TIE/ln Fighter with a third wing.
It is the ship that the group has been looking for!!!

An ancient building towers in the background, behind the TIE fighter.
Using his scoped weapon, Maki makes what appears to be a turret hole at the top of the building.
Picking his brain, Bacon decides that according to his knowledge, this is probably an ancient burial site

The chase for Tentic continues

As the events of Whisper Base come to a close, the party contacted the small rebel fleet and arranged for handing off the secret base.

With a refurbished YT-2400, the small group took flight to Iziz.
Onderon’s capital city was bustling with open markets, showing equipment, armaments and some underworld activities which the party took advantage of in order to make some adjustments to the ship, get a fresh new Bacta tank and some personal gear modifications.

The latest intelligence coming from Whisper base’s rebels suggested that Tentic Var has made some arrangements on Iziz and have taken flight to Dxun, Onderon’s fourth moon, that once a year, shared atmosphere with Onderon.

Cryus masterfully piloted the YT towards the Moon.As they entered Dxun’s orbit, (Yochanan) expertly scanned the planet looking for any odd large metallic shapes. Finding a ping on his scanner on the other side of the jungle moon, the ship headed towards the blip. Flying through the smog and darkness, Cryus managed to land in a clearing a few hours away from the large metallic mass. However (Guy) flying in his small Scout ship managed to crash headlong into the jungle and gouged a large furrow in the ground.

Regrouped, the party proceeded to head through the jungle in the direction of the Inquisitor’s ship.
As they walked through the Jungle, for a few hours they couldn’t help but notice that they seemed to have passed through familiar landmarks. They had been walking in circles for over 4 hours!!!

Finally, re-orienting themselves in the right direction, the party headed out towards the ship and after another trudge managed to arrive at a crater at the edge of the jungle.

Reporting for duty, Sir
Whisper Base - part 2

As Maki, Gliir Noom and Wienham faced down the three Stormtroopers, Cryus snuck down the corridor towards the hangar bay, where the Nilos, a Lambda-class shuttle, docked.

Cryus used one of the air ducts, to sneak unnoticed into hangar. Needing some sort of leverage against the patrolling Stormtroopers, he decided to stun a lone engineer, doing some maintenance on the Nilos.

Using a hydro-spanner and basic mechanical skills, he managed to rig the shuttle causing a small explosion to set off the fire alarm on get some of the troopers attention, rushing towards the location of the fire. It was the second, unexpected explosion, coming directly from the rigged engine that wiped the Imperial personnel and securing the hangar bay, solely by one rebel pilot.

Meanwhile, after taking down the guards in the corridor and facing down the patrol that happened to arrive simultaneously the rest of the group stopped to discuss their strategy. Choosing to lure the garrison into a false sense of security they “tied” up Wienham, dressed in stolen Stormtrooper armor and then called in with news of a captured Wookie infiltrator.

As a second patrol approached the captive Wookie, Wienham ripped out of his cuffs and with a roar of rage smashed a Stormtrooper into a pulp. In the ensuing fight, after a massive barrage by Maki and his enormous gun, most of the troopers lay dead, with the party suffering some damage.

With all the turmoil going on throughout the base, Lieutenant Sarev managed to escape through a small chute and find his way into a rusting AT-ST, marching forth into the jungle in an attempt to send a message through the Comm-link tower.

Maki mounted one of the Aratech 74-Zb speeder bikes and commenced a pursuit after the fleeing Lieutenant. The chase through the jungle, led the company to the Comm-link tower, where a parked AT-ST awaited. While the blast doors were slowly closing shut, Maki made one last attempt to stop the imperials with his repeater.

As the blast doors closed, silence took the stage. The imperials lay dead on the control panels, their blood slowly dripping into a pool on the Permacrete floor.

Whisper base was now in rebel hands!

Mission to Onderon
Whisper Base

After arriving at the Rebel Alliance fleet and transferring to their base, The party was given orders to strike at
Whisper Base, an old stronghold of the Empire – on the planet Onderon – and reclaim it for the Rebel Alliance.
Whisper Base is an Imperial secret listening post built by Moff Dardanof to spy on the movements of Captain Claive.

(Before this happens, the party discovered that Gyra the supposed old Jedi is in fact the self same Darth Harrows whose
ship was found on Kaltera IV a midst the Ziggurat)

After being equipped by the Rebel Alliance with miscellaneous and needed gear, the party left for the base.
Trekking through the dangerous jungle and trying not to let the oppressive heat beat them down, the party finally
arrives at the base itself. Its first mission is to take out the communications link for the base preventing any unwanted alarms and communications from leaving the base. Gliir Noom leaves Bacon and (Guy) to guard the rear in case of anyone sneaking up on them.

Entering the garage after evading an imperial patrol the
party then successfully managed to sever the communications link, thus guaranteeing that anything they do will go unnoticed in the greater scheme of things.

Maki takes a covering position at the westward door, while the rest of the party confers on what to do next and Wienham
pours fuel on the rows of Speederbikes waiting in the garage. Waiting for the technicians to arrive, the group decides to ambush them. On the westward door Cryus and Wienham stand hiding next to the wall in various positions and on the eastern door, Gliir Noom and Maki stand together. Suddenly boots sound on the door outside and a voice shouts
out in surprise! the party is discovered!

After a short and vicious fight, the party defeated the imperial contingent with Maki and Cryus suffering superficial wounds
and proceeded to check the fallen troopers bodies for any useful items. After leaving the garage they are confronted
by a clunky and heavy cleaning droid that has a martial look to itself who implores the group to let it pass so it may
clean. Wienham roars in frustration and then proceeds to rip the droid’s head off. Unsuccessful, the droid takes umbrage
and attempts to retaliate and bashes Wienham with its mop. In an unsuccessful attempt Cryus accidently shoots Maki in the
back, and Gliir Noom manages to hit the droid. In a final surge Maki managed to destroy the droid.

Consulting the schematics of the base, the party decided to split up with Cryus sneaking through the facility and heading for the Hangar Bay with the objective of the hijacking the ship that is docked inside while Gliir Noom, Maki and Wienham heading over to the
command center in order to sabotage and destroy the remaining Imperial personnel inside the base.

As Cryus moved stealthily forward he successfully managed to evade a patrol and then snuck outside to the Hangar. Meanwhile the other members inches forward silently but are abruptly cornered as a patrol rounds on them from one side, and a group of Stormtroopers appears in front of them guarding the door.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
